ABSTRACT: The objective of the study was to promote the informational skills and information services of the Library of the Faculty of Law of the University of Costa Rica through podcasts or radio microprograms. The activity was carried out during 12 months and in the following stages: 1- Identification of the skills of access, use, evaluation of information sources and psychographic characteristics of the high school and undergraduate students of the Faculty of Law. 2-Development of a production plan for the podcast to promote information skills and information services for the Library of the Faculty of Law. The population under study was made up of university students of the baccalaureate and law degree of the University of Costa Rica. In both phases, a non-probabilistic sample defined for convenience was chosen, which in the end was a group made up of 351 students. The following are some of the conclusions of the study: The informational competencies and psychographic characteristics of the students were identified, as well as the skills of access, use, evaluation of information sources and psychographic characteristics of the high school and undergraduate students of the Faculty of Law through an instrument that was completed by 351 students of the Faculty of Law. A podcast developed by the Library of the Faculty of Law can be a tool that allows users to get closer and thus support the information literacy mission that it carries out. Six informational competencies were proposed, namely: Library information, access to information, location of information, evaluation and treatment of information, and ethical use of information for which 30 topics for radio microprograms were proposed. The project demonstrates that a Specialized Library such as that of the Faculty of Law can plan, produce and edit radio microprograms or podcasts with which to encourage the informational skills of its users. Each podcast produced in this project has a literary script, which highlights the previous research for each information provided in the audios, which were evaluated by a focus group of users of the Library of the Faculty of Law. The focus group was made up of three library users, who signed an informed consent in accordance with the provisions of university regulations. The three users of the library that make up the focus group listened to the five podcasts to carry out the respective evaluation of each developed microprogram.
