ABSTRACT: The World Society for Animal Protection (WSPA), concerned about the training of teachers increasingly respectful of all forms of life, has considered necessary to promote this interest in the process of academic training, thus it is necessary to study the plans of study of the careers belonging to the School of Teacher Training and the School of Orientation and Special Education, of the Faculty of Education of the Universidad de Costa Rica; in order to identify those contents more compatible with the theme of respect for all forms of life. Thus, the project called "Analysis of the curricula of the Schools of Teacher Training and Guidance and Special Education of the Universidad de Costa Rica, for a possible link of the course" Respect for all forms of life " taught by WSPA, was elaborated, on which we can highlight some results such as the following: The majority of the courses with the highest points of connection with the program of Respect for all forms of life, are characterized by being optional courses for the students of education. Therefore it is possible that not all the students will be able to attend them. One possible link of this WSPA initiative, with the curricula of education careers and other faculties, is precisely to get involved and analize the study programs of the courses known as Repertories or National Reality Seminars, which belong to the Faculty of General Studies. The courses with environmental and ecological characteristics, seem to cover the content of the environment in a broad way without necessarily emphasizing, in animal welfare or the care of pets. Therefore, it can be concluded that these courses are focused more from the conservationist perspective than from animal welfare.
