Resumen
El objetivo del estudio fue analizar las características sociodemográficas, de salud, académicas, familiares y laborales de la población estudiantil matriculada en el primer ciclo lectivo de 2022 en todas las sedes y recintos de la universidad de costa rica, para fortalecer el futuro desarrollo de indicadores y la posterior toma de decisiones. Este primer perfil general de la población estudiantil (a partir de ahora nos referiremos al mismo como: el perfil estudiantil) se crea mediante el diseño y aplicación de un instrumento de encuesta que asegure a las personas estudiantes el tratamiento confidencial de la información, y el uso ade-cuado estrictamente a los fines descritos. A la luz de experiencias anteriores a nivel nacional con objetivos similares. El instrumento para la recolección de la información estuvo disponible para que la población estudiantil activa de la institución lo pudiera completar en el segundo semestre de 2022. Durante este tiempo, el equipo de la ViVE mantuvo un monitoreo del avance y una comuni-cación constante con las unidades académicas con miras en ampliar el alcance de aplicación del instrumento y obtener los valiosos resultados que se informan en el presente documento. La en-cuesta se aplicó a 1189 personas estudiantes, 559 hombres y 630 mujeres. Las edades oscilan entre los 18 y 23 años principalmente (42.2% entre 18 a 20 años y 48.4% entre los 21 y 23). En decir, la población estudiantil consultada se encuentra en la adultez joven, la cual abarca el período entre los 18 y 30 años. Las acciones realizadas se plantean en la lógica de la mejora continua y guardan relación con los principios y las políticas institucionales que orientan la actividad universita-ria en general, bajo la premisa de continuar robusteciendo este quehacer con los insumos aporta-dos por las personas estudiantes, quienes desarrollan su proyecto de estudios en la Universidad de Costa Rica, siempre en la búsqueda de la excelencia académica y de la prestación de mejores servicios. Esperamos que este documento sea de amplia consulta en la UCR, pues brinda infor-mación útil para las oficinas administrativas, pero también para las unidades académicas en gene-ral, al contar con una alta representatividad en todas las sedes y recintos de nuestra institución.
