Resumen
Este proyecto se orienta a develar la construcción social, política, ideológica y económica de la maternidad,
desde la perspectiva de género para desarrollar diferentes acciones dirigidas a que las mujeres develen el
contenido que se le asigna a la maternidad, tanto en la educación formal como no formal en el contexto costarricense.
Los objetivos planteados fueron: analizar el proceso de construcción del concepto de maternidad en la educación formal y establecer estrategias para deconstruir el concepto de maternidad en la sociedad costarricense.
Esta investigación se enmarca en la tradición de la investigación cualitativa. Esta elección se debió al interés
por la comprensión de los significados atribuidos por los individuos a la maternidad. De este modo, en una
perspectiva feminista, lo que interesa es aproximarse a lo que un grupo de niños y niñas pueda informar sobre lo que para ellos es “una madre”. Se centrará en la idea que expresen niños y niñas sobre la maternidad como un concepto que se construye en la interacción con los otros y desde luego con sus propias madres y otros referentes maternos.
Como técnicas para recolección de la información se utilizó el dibujo temático, la entrevista focalizada o
simbólica con niños y las niñas, grupo focal, entrevista dirigida para la docente y para la facilitadora. En el
espacio de la educación formal, la población meta del proyecto la conforman infantes de tercer grado de primaria y la docente de un grupo de estudiantes de 9 años. En el espacio de la educación no formal la población meta la conforma un grupo de mujeres participantes en el programa “Creciendo juntas”, coordinado por el Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social (IMAS).
Los resultados son presentados según los discursos de las personas participantes, así como en cinco dimensiones, a saber: Descriptiva; La moral-ética; La función materna; Del cuidado; La función de la escuela.
La investigación presenta una propuesta de Deconstrucción y transformación del concepto maternidad.
ABSTRACT: This project aims to unveil the social, political, ideological and economic construction of motherhood, from a gender perspective to develop different actions aimed at women unveiling the content assigned to motherhood, both in formal education and non-formal in the Costa Rican context. The objectives were: to analyze the process of construction of the concept of motherhood in formal education and to establish strategies to deconstruct the concept of motherhood in Costa Rican society. This research is part of the tradition of qualitative research. This choice was due to the interest in understanding the meanings attributed by individuals to motherhood. Thus, in a feminist perspective, what is interesting is to approach what a group of children can report on what is "a mother" to them. It will focus on the idea that children express about motherhood as a concept that is built in interaction with others and, of course, with their own mothers and other maternal referents. As information gathering techniques, the thematic drawing, the focused interview or the symbolic with boys and girls, focal group, directed interview for the teacher and for the facilitator. At Formal education space, the target population of the project is made up of infants of the third grade of primary school and the teacher of a group of 9-year-old students. In the area of non-formal education, the target population is made up of a group of women participating in the "Growing Together" program, coordinated by the Mixed Institute for Social Assistance (IMAS). The results are presented according to the speeches of the participants, as well as in five dimensions, namely: Descriptive; The moral-ethical; The maternal function; Of care; The function of the school. The research presents a proposal of Deconstruction and transformation of the maternity concept.
