Resumen
Este trabajo tiene por finalidad definir el perfil profesional de la carrera de periodismo para que posteriormente la Unidad Académica reforme el actual plan de estudios. Las fuentes consultadas para la elaboración de este trabajo fueron los archivos de la Escuela de Ciencias de la Comunicación Colectiva, específicamente las actas de las Asambleas de Escuela, los planes de estudio, los diagnósticos elaborados en distintos momentos, los informes de labores de los distintos directores y los expedientes generales de los egresados y graduados de la Escuela. Se revisaron además las actas del Consejo Universitario y al Rectoría, las informaciones contenidas en los periódicos que trataban sobre la Escuela, así como diversos textos que versan sobre el tema de manera directa o indirecta, escritos por autores nacionales y extranjeros. También se realizaron entrevista y encuestas a personas vinculadas con la carrera desde su inicio.
Con la información obtenida, la Unidad Académica en colaboración con el Centro de Evaluación Académica (CEA) y el Instituto de Investigación para el Mejoramiento de la Educación Costarricense (IIMEC) inician un proceso de reflexión para elaborar el perfil académico profesional de la carrera.
El documento final presenta antecedentes de la Escuela, justificación de la carrera, así como fundamentación y objetivos.
ABSTRACT: This work aims to define the professional profile of the journalism career so that later the Academic Unit will reform the current study plan. The sources consulted for the preparation of this work were obtained from the files of the collective Sciences Communication career, specifically the minutes of the School Assemblies, the study plans, the diagnoses prepared at different times, the laboratory reports of the different directors and the general files of the graduates of the School. The minutes of the University Council and the Rectory, the information contained from the newspapers dealing with the School, as well as various texts that deal with the subject directly or indirectly, writings by national and foreign authors were also reviewed. Interviews and surveys of people linked to the race from its inception were also interviewed. With the information obtained, the Academic Unit in collaboration with the Academic Evaluation Center (CEA) and the Research Institute for the Improvement of Costa Rican Education (IIMEC) begin a process of reflection to develop the professional academic profile of the career. The final document presents background of the School, justification of the career as well as foundation and objectives.
