Actitudes de estudiantes de IX y X años, de los padres de familia y profesores hacia el idioma francés en la educación general básica y la educación diversificada.

Resumen
Partiendo del escaso número de estudiantes que escoge la opción de francés a partir del IX año hasta el bachillerato de secundaria y la posibilidad de eliminar dicha materia de los programas del Ministerio de Educación, la investigadora lleva a cabo una evaluación de la actitudes de los estudiantes de IX y X años, de los profesores y de los padres de familia hacia el idioma francés y su enseñanza en Costa Rica. La investigación es de tipo exploratorio-descriptivo y toma en cuenta variables como el tipo de institución y la zona geográfica. La muestra incluye once instituciones públicas, privadas y semiprivadas de los cantones de Desamparados, Montes de Oca, Curridabat, Goicoechea y Moravia. Se recogieron 1875 pruebas de estudiantes, 26 pruebas de profesores y 1170 cuestionarios de padres de familia. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron dos escalas Likert y un cuestionario de opinión. Para el caso de los estudiantes, los ítemes medían criterios como utilidad, carácter práctico, semejanza con el español y estatus. Las pruebas de los profesores calificaban aspectos de motivación, eficiencia y satisfacción.
En cuento a los resultados, se concluye que, independientemente de la naturaleza de las instituciones, las actitudes identificadas son positivas, especialmente en los estudiantes de X año; los profesores de francés sienten satisfacción por la labor que realizan; y los padres de familia no intervienen a favor de la selección de un idioma específico para presentar en los exámenes de bachillerato y abogan por la permanencia del estudio del francés.
ABSTRACT: Based on the small number of students who choose the French option from the ninth year to high school and the possibility of eliminating this subject from the programs of the Ministry of Education, the researcher carries out an evaluation of the students' attitudes IX and X grades, teachers and parents towards the French language and its teaching in Costa Rica. The research is an exploratory-descriptive type and takes into account variables such as the type of institution and the geographical area. The sample includes public, private and semi-private institutions in the cantons of Desamparados, Montes de Oca, Curridabat, Goicoechea and Moravia. 1875 student tests, 26 teacher tests and 1170 parent questionnaires were recognized. The instruments used were two Likert scales and an opinion questionnaire. In the case of students, the medium items criteria such as utility, practicality, similarity with Spanish and status. The teachers' tests rated aspects of motivation, efficiency and satisfaction. Regarding the results, it is concluded that, specifically from the nature of the institutions, the identified attitudes are positive, especially in X-year students; French teachers experience satisfaction with the work they do; and parents do not intervene in favor of the selection of a specific language to present in the baccalaureate exams and advocate the permanence of the study of French.
